In 1988, John Policastro opened Mamma Mia Restaurant on Essex Street in Hackensack, New Jersey. Mamma Mia soon became a household name to families throughout Bergen County. Customers began to request catering from Mamma Mia and immediately catering became a major part of John’s business.
